Hearing God's Voice Will Move You in Purpose …
I remember my second experience hearing God’s Voice and how God used it to move me in His purpose.
Back in 2011, after the car struck me on the crosswalk, my doctor and chiropractor allowed me to resume driving a year later.
One evening during the summer of 2011, I attended a networking event in Santa Monica.
I estimated the ride from my house in Sherman Oaks to my meeting for about 45 minutes using the 405 S and I-10 W freeways.
Before I left my house, I remembered that my friend Clifton Anderson had posted a reminder on Facebook about my mentor Les Brown being on the radio tonight with his daughter Ona Brown.
As soon as I started driving, I listened to their inspirational conversation.
Twenty-five minutes later, a few miles before the junction between the 405 S and I-10 W, Ona said, emphasized listening to our intuition and sixth sense in business. Her statement caught my interest and got me thinking.
Then, I thought about Exit 53 to merge onto I-10 W toward Santa Monica because this area is often busy, and I didn’t want to miss the exit.
While approaching the junction, I heard the same small still voice that I had I heard one year ago – Jean- Marc, stay there. It is okay if you miss the exit but stay in your lane. That voice within or impression in my heart lasted about two or three seconds.
As I was slowing down, I looked to my right and noticed two cars speeding as they tried to pass each other.
I continued to slow down, stayed on the 405 S, and kept my attention forward.
I could still hear the voice resonating inside of me, stay in your lane, when I heard an enormous boom!
Jesus said in Hebrews 3:15, “As has just been said: “Today, if you hear his voice, do not harden your hearts as you did in the rebellion.”
The two speeding cars had just collided. The accident shook me to the core. I could see the airbag deflating on the driver’s head.
Then I told myself, It is time to listen. That voice cares about you. It saved your life today. You need to work on this. I was shaking because I knew that if I hadn’t listened to that voice, I would have been involved in a serious car accident. Thanks to God, I was not hurt. My lane kept moving, and I took Exit 53 and merged onto I-10 W toward Santa Monica. As I was driving, I kept thinking, That voice is there to protect and lead us to the right path. Then I asked myself, What do we need to do to cultivate and listen to this inner voice?
One of the fruits of trusting and obeying God’s Voice is that HE will move you in purpose and toward your destiny.
Last week, I watched this powerful testimony of a Jewish woman named Moriel who was deeply entrenched in the party scene. She found herself caught up in a world of drugs and alcohol that led her down a path of destruction. One night, while at a party, she was drugged and found herself in a dangerous and vulnerable situation. In the midst of this turmoil, she heard God call out to her. This experience marked the beginning of a powerful transformation in her life. She left the party scene and turned away from her former lifestyle, embracing a new life of faith and hope. Through this experience, she discovered the power of God's love and the hope that comes from a relationship with Jesus Yeshua Her testimony is a powerful reminder that no matter what we've done or where we've been, we can always turn to Jesus for forgiveness, healing, and new life. What I enjoyed about that testimony is that God’s Voice lead that woman from a selfish life to a life filled purpose and selfless love. Watch the story below and leave your comments below.
