Finding peace in God’s Voice …

Feeling conflicted in your decision-making? May I suggest this your consideration?

One of the greatest advice I received on how to discern the Will of God, to be precise to discern God’s Voice when making choices, comes from Fr German Sanchez at St. Sebastian Catholic Church - Los Angeles.

Back in 2007, I was struggling with a personal decision. This was causing me insomnia and anxiety. During a time of confession, I opened up to Fr. German, and I asked for his help. He didn’t tell me what to do about my specific situation. No, instead he said something simple that made me feel puzzled but also comforted. I remember his simple but profound answer. It has stuck with me for 15 years.

He said, “Jean-Marc, it is simple. God will show you that you make HIS Will with your decision when you feel HIS lasting and deep peace within you. That is God’s signature. This is for me one safe way to find out whether we have discerned truly the will of God. Do you feel HIS peace with the choices that are in front of you?”
